I AM a spark that fell from God
as He walked the Arc of the Universe at Creation.

I AM the stone man as he hunted and fished
in the sparkling wilderness called Earth.

I AM the native as he climbs the trees in the forest
in search of food and honey.

I AM the Indian as he roams the plains
hunting the buffalo and the deer.

I AM the seafarer as he plows
the lanes of the rolling sea.

I AM the Egyptian
as he tills the soil of the Nile.

I AM the Israelite who plods the wastes of the desert
in search of the Promised Land.

I AM the Jesus the Christ
as He died upon the cross so inhumanely.

The prophet, the saint, the sinner, the slave, the peasant,
their lords — they are all a part of me.

I AM THAT I AM a part of all that was or is to be.
